When I’m out in the world, small things often catch my eye - two friends talking, the lilt of a dragonfly on the breeze, the reflection of light off a surface. These experiences inspire me to translate what I’ve seen and felt onto a 2D surface. I’m not always successful, but I always learn more about myself and the world in the process.

I’m an artist and National Board Certified teacher. I’ve had the privilege of teaching people of all ages for more than 20 years. I love to inspire a love of art in others - helping you embrace the creative process and giving you the tools to bring your vision to life. My favorite is those “ah-ha” moments students have when I’ve taught something in just the way they needed to hear it.

I’ve presented at local artist organizations. I’ve exhibited my work in local juried shows, as well as international exhibitions. But more important than my credentials is my belief in everyone’s ability to create. I believe in the power of drawing as a tool - for communication, relaxation, self-exploration and just plain silly fun. Painting brings color, versatility and creativity. I work across acrylics, pastels, watercolors and digital mediums.
